Reason for Recommendation
On June 4, 2013, the Board adopted a Resolution authorizing the Director of Transportation to temporarily close a section of Francisco Drive, from Cambria Way to just north of EI Dorado Hills Blvd. for the construction of the Overlay - Francisco Drive Project (Project) during the 2013 construction season. Subsequent to the adoption and recording of said Resolution, the Transportation Division (Division) received additional project funding allowing for an expanded scope of work to include paving on each side of Francisco Drive. This expanded scope of work requires lengthening the total time of closure (10 days) and daily times (7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) and requires the Division to seek a new Resolution.

To effectively rehabilitate the pavement, do the overlay, and pave the shoulders the Project will require the temporary full closure of this section of Francisco Drive for a period of ten (10) weekdays, Monday through Friday only. The closure times will be from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24 and from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. beginning Wednesday, September 25 through Friday, October 4, 2013. Alternate access will be available during the time of the temporary closure and traffic will be directed by signage to the detour route along Green Valley Road to El Dorado Hills Boulevard.
