Title
Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign the California Department of Transportation Amended Contract retroactively extending the Temporary Construction Easement from April 15, 2014 through December 15, 2016 on the County owned parcel APN No. 098-171-013.
Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
There is no fiscal impact to the County for granting the Temporary Construction Easement to California Department of Transportation.  The County is being paid the standard nominal fee of $500.00.

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is making road improvements along Highway 89 at Gray Ave in Tahoma, California.  A parcel at that intersection known as APN# 098-171-013, consists of approximately 2.10 acres and is owned by El Dorado County.

Caltrans previously purchased a 24 month Temporary Construction Easement (TCE) from the County on this parcel to commence on April 15, 2012 and terminate on April 15, 2014.  Due to changes in the Caltrans project schedule and a construction delay, a new retroactive TCE is needed to commence on April 15, 2014 and terminate on December 1, 2016.  The TCE is needed to provide extra working room to widen the road approach during construction of the project.

Reason for Recommendation
The TCE is necessary for Caltrans to complete their road improvement along Highway 89.

Clerk of the Board Follow Up Actions
1. The Clerk will obtain the Chair's signature on the Amended Contract.
2. The Clerk will return the fully executed original document to Transportation for final processing.
