DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The attached staff report provides an update to the Board on Parks activities, including current projects, potential projects, and funding opportunities (Attachment A). This update is to provide the Board with details on parks projects and an assessment of the program. Current projects, new opportunities, and a summary of staff recommendations are provided. Our work this year includes expanding recreational opportunities at our existing parks, delivering on new projects, and focusing on our collaborations throughout the community. The update will provide details on some of our current projects, our plan for ongoing public engagement, the River Management Plan Five-Year Update, the Parks Volunteer program, coordination with other recreation agencies, and the status of the Parks Master Plan.
