Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  No increase in net County cost.  It is anticipated that this change will result in PERS savings.
 
Background/Reason for Recommendation:  County staff, per the direction of the Board of Supervisors has been negotiating with various labor associations over the past year to achieve long-term structural pension reforms.  It is the intention of this resolution to modify the Salary and Benefits Resolution to reflect the results of these negotiations with represented bargaining groups.
 
This amendment would create consistency in PERS contributions and retirement formulas between unrepresented and represented employees.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:  Human Resources Department and the Payroll Division of the Auditor/Controllers Office to implement this amendment concerning employee contributions effective the first full pay period following adoption by the Board.   Human Resources to complete the Amendment process with CalPERS.
