Salaries for classifications of Undersheriff, Captain, Lieutenant, are among those determined by Section 504 of the El Dorado County Charter and additional classifications are entitled to commensurate increases per Salary and Benefits Resolution Section 704, Resolution #227-99, and Memorandums of Understandings.
 
It has been evaluated as prescribed in Section 504 and determined that the applicable classifications are currently paid at or above the average salary of the classification within the comparator agencies and "at least equal to the average of the salaries for the comparable positions in the South Lake Tahoe police Department, Amador County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol."
 
The classification of Sheriff has linkage in the Salary and Benefits Resolution Section 704, Resolution #227-99, however in accordance with Charter Section 504, employees elected by popular vote are excluded.
 
It should be noted that the Board did approve recommended increases for the classifications of Sheriff Deputies and Sheriff Sergeants in accordance with Section 504 at the January 10, 2012 meeting. (Estimate time: 20 minutes)
