Body

Social workers have dedicated their lives to creating opportunities for individuals, famililes and communities to thrive.  Working within many challenging realms, social workers address critical and complex issues on a daily basis, including; child maltreatment and protection, improving the social supports, health care and education of at-risk children, foster care and adoption services, working with families in crisis who are facing multiple stressors, integrating immigrant families and undocumented youth with a range of challenges like language barriers, lack of resources, supportive laws and policies.

Social workers know that protective factors such as economic stability, supportive family networks, nurturing parent skills, access to role models, and community resources can create a healthy family environment and prevent child abuse and neglect.

In short, social workers help people overcome problems and make their lives better. We salute the Social Worker.
