Funding for this portion of the acquisition process will be provided by Highway Bridge Program grant funds.

Background:
The Blair Road at EID Canal - Bridge Replacement Project (Project) is located in the community of Pollock Pines. The existing bridge is functionally obsolete and does not meet current traffic needs due to its narrow width. The new bridge is proposed to be two lanes in order to meet current design standards. The approaches to the new bridge will be widened along with improvements to the drainage along Blair Road. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2015.

Reason for Recommendation:
The Department of Transportation (Department) was awarded a Highway Bridge Program grant for the Project. The Project is subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The CEQA Mitigated Negative Declaration and the NEPA Finding of No Significant Impact will be prepared and brought back to the Board for approval.

The research of all potentially affected parcels and the acquisition of portions of the subject parcel are necessary from the subject property owners to enable the construction of the Project improvements...
