Title
Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, recommending the Board declare a Reinco 18 horsepower mower/chipper/blower, County Tag  No. 200413 as surplus, and approve the transfer of the item to the California Tahoe Conservancy in accordance with Government Code Sections 25365 and 25372, and pursuant to Agreement No. 616-O1210.
Body
Fiscal Impact
This unit has depreciated to zero and is not suitable for the Department of Transportation's use.  The Board is asked to authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign an agreement for the donation of one (1) Reinco 18 horsepower mower/chipper/blower, County tag #200413 to the California Tahoe Conservancy.

Reason for Recommendation
The Reinco straw blower was purchased with California Tahoe Conservancy grant funds for the purpose of applying straw mulch to revegetated areas. Straw is not used anymore to mulch revegetated areas. The Reinco straw blower was stored at the Shakori Corporation yard for many years without any use. The California Tahoe Conservancy wanted to use the blower to apply other materials for revegetation. The county does not have any further use for the straw blower.

Property determined to be surplus to the needs of various departments is offered to other County departments in accordance with Purchasing Ordinance 3.12.190 - Surplus Pool. The attached list of "surplus property" reflects those items that remain surplus to the needs of the County. The Purchasing Agent will dispose of said property in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance as noted in Section 3.12.210 and Section 3.12.220 thereof by means of auction, direct sale or donation.

Action to be taken following approval
Upon approval of the recommendation, the Purchasing Agent will complete the donation agreement.
