Background

Transportation is currently in the design phase to improve the drainage facilities on a segment of Hollow Oak Road, just east of Bass Lake Road in El Dorado Hills.

The Hollow Oak Road Drainage Project (Project) is subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).  The preparation of a CEQA Categorical Exemption was completed for the Project and was filed on February 2, 2011.  Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2013.

Reason for Recommendation

The research of all potentially affected parcels and the acquisitions of portions of the subject parcels are necessary from the subject property owners to enable the construction of the Project improvements.  In order for Transportation to research title document records and prepare for negotiations with the subject parcel owners, Transportation is requesting authorization from the Board to proceed with the acquisition process, including ordering and payment of title reports and certified appraisals for the land rights to be acquired.
