Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
Costs for services provided to the Superior Court are offset through the Court Security Realignment Funding.   Therefore, approval of this request will not result in any changes to Net County Cost.  All necessary budget recommendations are included in the Fiscal Year 2014/15 Budget.

Background
In previous years, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office would enter into an MOU with the Superior Court to provide Court Bailiff and Security services.  Each year, the Sheriff negotiated an MOU with the Superior Court for the level of service required, as well as the amount of reimbursement.

Beginning in Fiscal Year 2011/12, the State of California began providing a specified allocation to the County Auditor which is set aside in a special revenue account, thus eliminating the negotiations for reimbursement amounts.

Reason for Recommendation
For Fiscal Year 2014/15, the Sheriff's Office has negotiated an MOU with the Superior Court for Court services.  The amount of funding available to the Sheriff's Office by the State of California is anticipated to be $3,265,780.  The Sheriff's Office will submit a quarterly billing of actual expenses for services provided to the Auditor's Office for reimbursement from the special revenue account.

Clerk of the Board Follow Up Actions
