Community Development Agency, Long Range Planning, providing the Board with a Long Range Planning update including the Land Use Policy Programmatic Update. (Cont. 8/26/14, Item 41)
Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
There is no fiscal impact or change to net County Cost associated with this item.

Background:
On October 29, 2013, Long Range Planning (LRP),  in coordination with the Chief Administrative Office (CAO), began providing monthly updates to the Board.  The monthly CAO/LRP updates had previously been referred to as Land Use Policy Programmatic Update (LUPPU) updates, as they covered items directly related to the Targeted General Plan Amendment and Zoning Ordinance Update (TGPA/ZOU) project, the 2013 Housing Element Update and the update to the County's Travel Demand Model (TDM).

The updates are now more comprehensively referred to as Long Range Planning Updates, as they cover projects and processes beyond just LUPPU.  These new projects include, but are not limited to, major updates to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Traffic Impact Mitigation (TIM) Fee program, Community Vision Implementation Plans (CVIPs), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and the Biology Policy Update.

Attached is a brief update on many of LRP's projects and programs currently underway (Attachments 8A and 8B).  LRP staff encourages ongoing discussion and open communication on these and other related issues. These items are important to land owners and residents throughout the County and its various communities.

LRP's goal is to provide accurate and comprehensive information necessary for the Board to make informed policy decisions.  LRP encourages everyone to review the data presented.  In the event information is determined to be incorrect, staff will promptly correct the information and notify the Board.
