Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
This personnel allocation is on-going and will be budgeted for in future years.  The funding for this position will be tied to the Superior Court of California / El Dorado County MOU for Court Security Services.  The authorization amending the Personnel Allocation Resolution for this position will not increase Net County Costs. Costs for services provided to the Superior Court are offset through the State of California Court Security Realignment Funding.

Background
In August 2011, the Board approved the new classification of Sheriff's Security Officer.  Currently, there are nine Sheriff's Security Officers providing services. However, there has been an increase in workload which necessitates an additional allocation to provide adequate court security services.

The Sheriff's Office requested and received approval for funding from the Superior Court for an additional Security Officer in the FY 2014/15 MOU.

Reason for Recommendation
Approval of this recommendation would add another Sheriff's Security Officer to help with providing adequate court security services.
