Background
The Gold Country Endurance Riders (GCER) sponsor an annual equestrian ride each July composed of a thirty-mile fun / introduction / beginner ride and an additional twenty-mile loop for a total fifty-mile endurance ride. This ride is sanctioned by the American Endurance Riders Conference. It provides an opportunity for riders of all age groups and skill levels to experience and participate in a day of riding in the County's forests. Each year the GCER uses the campground facility at the Georgetown Airport in conjunction with this event. The GCER generously donated $250 to the County in 2012 for maintenance of the restroom facilities at the Georgetown Airport. County Airport staff used these funds to replace the fascia board and some of the plumbing in the restroom facilities.
Reason for Recommendation
The GCER sent a $250 donation check to the County in 2013; however, the County never received the check. This year the GCER sent a $250 replacement check for 2013 and a $250 donation for 2014 and requested that Airport staff use the $500 to repair the ruts in the road leading to the campground, which will make it easier for the GCER to enter the campground with their horse trailers. With the Board's acceptance of the donation, Airport staff will incorporate repairs to the road in their Fiscal Year 2014-15 work plan.

Community Development Agency staff will send a letter of appreciation to the GCER.
