Background
The federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) reformed healthcare to expand access by providing more citizens with improved and affordable quality health insurance. The first open enrollment for expanded healthcare coverage under ACA began October 1, 2013.
Reason for Recommendation
The presentation provides information on the implementation of ACA in El Dorado County including the impact to local providers, the collaboration between community partners, and the health status of the community.
