Background & Reason for Recommendation
On February 11, 2015, the Facilities Division was notified by letter from the El Dorado Irrigation District of their intent to surplus land within the County's jurisdictional boundaries pursuant to California Government Code sections 54220-54233. The surplus property is commonly known as the Blakeley Reservoir; APNs 043-030-11, 043-030-12, and 048-160-04.
The Division recommends the Board decline the option to purchase or lease this surplus land for parks and recreation purposes or open space purposes as the County recently purchased Forebay Park. Additionally the County still has ownership of a 26 acre vacant parcel in the area. The window to accept the offer terminates on April 11, 2015.
