Probation Department and Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Amendment I to Agreement No.411-S1411 with El Dorado County Office of Education, Adult Education Program, to include Exhibit "E" marked "El Dorado County Office of Education and El Dorado County Jail, South Lake Tahoe Adult Education Jail Program Expenditure Budget July 1, 2013 through February 28, 2014."

Department Recommendation:
Approval of the amended agreement will allow El Dorado County Office of Education to receive payment for services performed at the South Lake Tahoe Jail during the months of July 2013 through February 2014.
Discussion / Background:
On June 25, 2013, the Community Corrections Partnership presented the Public Safety Realignment Implementation Plan and Budget for Fiscal Year 2013/2014 to the Board of Supervisors under agenda item #13-0689. The plan and budget, as accepted by the Board, included an expenditure line item for the County Office of Education.
The contracted services for the County Office of Education will provide AB 109 enhanced adult education services, school services, GED and diploma services at three locations: Main Placerville Jail, South Lake Tahoe Jail, and the Shingle Springs Community Corrections Center.

Approval of this retroactive agreement is needed in order to pay the Office of Education for services provided based on the terms of the agreement.
Financial Impact:
There will be no fiscal impact or change to Net County Cost. Funding is provided under AB109 and included in the Sheriff's Budget

1 Chair to sign two (2) originals of the agreement #411-S1411, Amendment I.
2 Clerk of the Board to return one (1) executed original Agreement to Probation Main Office.
3 Probation Department staff to distribute as appropriate.
