Body
DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Sheriff's Office recommends the approval and signing of this new MOU to continue providing reimbursable Court Security/Bailiff services to the Superior Court for FY 2015/16.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
In previous years, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office would enter into an MOU with the Superior Court to provide Court Bailiff and Security services. Each year, the Sheriff negotiated an MOU with the Superior Court for the level of service required, as well as the amount of reimbursement.

Beginning in Fiscal Year 2011/12, the State of California began providing a specified allocation to the County Auditor which is set aside in a special revenue account, thus eliminating the negotiations for reimbursement amounts.

The review of costs and terms for the FY 2015/16 MOU has not yet been completed by the involved agencies. However, due to the fact that the MOU has to be in place by July 1, 2015, this action is being requested pending review and approval by the involved agencies.

ALTERNATIVES
Failure to approve this MOU would mean that Court Security services will not be able to continue beyond the current fiscal year.

OTHER DEPARTMENT / AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
Superior Court, County Counsel and Risk Management of MOU.
