PRESENTATION of Resolution 388-2006 recognizing Valerie Rudd, PHN, Public Health Services Manager on the occassion of her retirement from 30 years of public service with El Dorado County.

Background: Valerie Rudd began her career with the El Dorado County Public Health Department as a Public Health Nurse III in 1976 where she later became the Director of Public Health Nursing in 1977 and Public Health Services Manager in 1990. During her tenure with the County, Ms. Rudd provided leadership in AIDS education and professional training in the mid 80s, fostering the concepts of culturally diversified care to all residents of El Dorado County. Ms. Rudd has demonstrated professional diversity through all of her service years, including advocacy for the elders and medically underserved children in the community. Ms. Rudd has performed all of these duties as a dedicated employee and Public Health Nurse of the Public Health Department. She represents Public Health Nursing and County employment with characteristics of integrity, honor, humor and professionalism, and will retire in great esteem from El Dorado County on December 1, 2006.
Ms. Rudd will be in attendance at this meeting as the Department honors her with a short presentation.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Chairman to sign two (2) copies of the attached resolution recognizing Ms. Rudd's 30 years of dedicated public service with El Dorado County; Board Clerk's Office to return one (1) copy to Department.
