Background: Alpine County has the smallest population of any California county, and therefore has limited resources to provide psychiatric emergency services. As Alpine County borders El Dorado County, a collaboration between the two benefits both counties.

Reason for Recommendation:This agreement will allow El Dorado County Mental Health to provide crisis intervention evaluation and assistance on an "as requested" basis for Alpine County residents.  This agreement will become effective when executed and will cover the period through June 30, 2008.

Action to be taken following Board approval:Board Clerk's Office will forward the executed agreement to Mental Health for further processing.
