Background:  The County contracted with Healthcare Technology Management Services for  information technology planning and system procurement related to the ACCEL Initiative shortly after the Initiative was launched.  The previous contract with this vendor expired 9/30/07.  Efforts to amend it to add funding were begun prior to its expiration, but processing took it beyond the 9/30/07 expiration date.

The Department worked with County Counsel to develop a new contract that allows for payment of $35,000 for services that were provided under the scope of the original contract after that contract expired and while the new contract was being processed.  The new contract also allows for payment of up to $79,000 for future services provided for a total not to exceed amount of $114,000.

Reason for Recommendation:  The Department continues to need services provided by this vendor in order to proceed with ACCEL goals, and needs to compensate them for prior services.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Chairman to sign 3 original Agreements;  Board Clerk to return all but one to Department for distribution and filing.
