Human Services Department, Community Services Division, recommending Resolution authorizing the Chairman to sign Amendment 1 to Agreement AP-0708-29 with the California Department of Aging, increasing the maximum grant amount by $32,938 to $1,262,490 for the term July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008 for the provision of Senior Services during Fiscal Year 2007/2008; authorize the Area Agency on Aging Director or his/her successor to execute said Contract as amended and any subsequent documents relating to, including amendments thereto, contingent upon approval of County Counsel and Risk Management, that do not affect the dollar amount or the term; and execute required fiscal and programmatic reports related to same.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution 16-2008.

The $32,938 increase payable by the State to El Dorado County under this Contract was expected and budgeted for FY 2007/08.
Reason for Recommendation:
On May 15, 2007 the Board adopted Resolution No. 104-2007 authorizing execution of Contract AP-0708-29 with the California Department of Aging in the amount of $1,229,552. Amendment No. 1 provides an additional $32,938 in Federal one-time-only funds that represents unspent previously awarded funds and is intended to enhance provision of Title III/VII Senior Services and Title III E Family Caregiver Support Program services during the contract term of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. County Counsel and Risk Management have approved the Amendment. The Contract Amendment, Resolution and Blue Route are attached.
