Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  None.  The telephone system revenues are not part of the General Fund.  The Sheriff will deposit the proceeds into the Inmate Welfare Trust Fund and the Probation Department will deposit their proceeds into a special trust to be used for minors in the Juvenile Hall and Juvenile Treatment Facility.
 
Background:  In May of 2003, the Sheriff entered into an Agreement with PCS for the acquisition of an Inmate Telephone Revenue Recovery Program for both of the County jails.  In 2004, the Agreement was amended to add the Placerville Juvenile Hall and the South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Treatment Center.  
 
Reason for Recommendation:  The current Agreement will expire on 5/15/2008.  Amendment #4 will extend the term of the Agreement to 5/15/2013
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:  The Chair will sign the Agreement and Clerk will forward to the Sheriff's Office for distribution.
