Supervisor Santiago requesting authorization to utilize four County lots in the Angora Fire Area in South Lake Tahoe for the Revegetation Ceremony on June 5, 2008.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.
Body
Four El Dorado County lots have been identified in the Angora Fire area as good prospective locations for a kick off revegetation project; the planting of 60 trees from participants invited by the Israeli Consulate, San Francisco, on June 5, 2008.
 
The Jeffrey Pine trees will be provided by the the California Tahoe Conservancy from a state nursery, and the event has been facilitated by staff at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.
 
The county lots: 033-276-05, 033-272-16, 033-272-17, and, 033-272-12, located on Elk Point Drive and Mule Deer Circle, South Lake Tahoe, were ravaged by the Angora fire, and completely cleared of vegetation and trees.  They were identified as perfect candidates to begin demonstrating revegetation efforts under supervision of the University Cooperative Extension Natural Resource Advisor, Susie Kocher.
 
 
RECOMMENDATION:  Supervisor Santiago requests county permission to utilize four county lots to conduct a revegetation ceremony on June 5th.
