Human Services Department recommending Resolution authorizing the Chairman to sign Contract AP-0809-29 in the amount of $1,209,729, and the accompanying Contractor/Vendor Confidentiality Statement with the California Department of Aging for the provision of specified senior services during the period of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009; and further authorizing the Area Agency on Aging Director to administer the contract and execute subsequent documents relating to same, including amendments thereto, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management, that do not affect the dollar amount or the term, and to sign required fiscal and programmatic reports.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution 124-2008.

The amount of federal and state grant funds payable by the State to El Dorado County under this Contract is $1,209,729. This funding is included in the FY 2008/09 County Budget Request. Any County contribution to senior services is determined during the annual budget process.
Reason for Recommendation:
Contract AP-0809-29 provides $1,209,729 in federal and state funding for provision of Older Americans Act and Older Californian’s Act Title III/VII and Community Based Services Programs (CBSP) senior services during FY 2008/09. These services are designed to improve the lives of seniors age 60 and over residing in El Dorado County and to help them remain independent to the extent possible. The Contract, Contractor/Vendor Confidentiality Statement, Resolution and Blue Route are attached.
