Background:
In November 2004, California voters passed Proposition 63, now known as the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). A Community Services and Supports (CSS) plan was developed to determine how MHSA financing would be used in the County. CSS plan development included active participation of key organizations and individuals from throughout El Dorado County, including community leaders and non-profit organizations providing charitable and public benefit activities for El Dorado County residents. In January 2006, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved the three-year CSS plan for submission to the California Department of Mental Health. El Dorado County’s CSS plan was formally approved by the State on April 28, 2006 and the County presently receives MHSA funding through Agreement number #644-S0811 with California DMH.
