Background:

Reason for Recommendation: The Environmental Management Department has utilized the legal services of The Law Offices of Thomas M. Bruen for over a decade. This firm has provided critical legal support to County Counsel and the Department regarding a variety of air quality, solid, liquid and hazardous waste matters. Their services have included a) preparation, draft and review of memorandum, contracts, resolutions and municipal service agreements; b) review and analysis of applicable environmental law as they apply to environmental issues and waste management; c) review and draft solid and hazardous waste ordinances; and d) assist in litigation matters as directed by County Counsel including issues related to the Meyers Landfill and the Air Quality Management District. This second amendment will allow for the continued legal and legislative support related to the above issues.
