Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: These lockers were not included in the Sheriff's FY08/09 budget. Funding was available for this purchase in FY07/08 but the department was unable to complete the bidding and delivery process prior to the close of the fiscal year. The Sheriff will find funding within the FY08/09 budget to cover the cost of the lockers.
Background: The Sheriff has historically provided lockers for use by sworn staff for securing their personal belongings while on duty and the secure storage of department issued equipment.
Reason for Recommendation: The recent hiring of numerous Deputy Sheriff's has necessitated the addition of fourteen (14) lockers.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Purchasing will issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $7,092 to CASCO Equipment Corporation of West Sacramento, CA, the low bidder for the lockers.
