Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Total project costs are estimated at $402,370. Funding from a FAA Grant for $384,049 and funds from the Placerville Airport Enterprise Fund for $8,720 have been secured. This State Airport Improvement Program Matching Grant for $9,601 completes the funding. There is no net cost to County General Fund associated with this agenda item.

Reason for Recommendation:
On May 13, 2008, the Board approved the Plans and Specifications, and authorized the advertisement for construction bids for Phase II Replacement of Medium Intensity Runway Lighting on Runway 5-23 and Installation of a new Precision Approach Path Indicator on Runway 23 and construction of an Automated Weather Observation System at the Placerville Airport.

On June 12, 2008, the Department received five (5) bid proposals and after review selected Cindy Bales Engineering, Inc. as the low bidder.
