Supervisor Briggs, on behalf of the American River Conservancy, recommending the Board approve the purchase of the Carriage Hill property with funds from the El Dorado County rare plant mitigation account. (Cont'd 8/19/08, Item 23)
Body
The owner of the Carriage Hill property, CA Cameron Park, LP, has agreed to sell this property for the appraised fair market value of $3,320,000. El Dorado County has in excess of $4 million dollars within its rare plant mitigation account, available for rare plant habitat acquisitions.
 
If the Board of Supervisors approves the acquisition, the property will be integrated into Cameron Park Unit of the Pine Hill Preserve for management as gabbro soils rare plant habitat and for the receovery of the five special status species found on this property.
 
El Dorado County may choose to retain ownership of the property at close of escrow or transfer the property to the Bureau of Land Management.
