Reason for Recommendation:  The Department of Human Services (DHS) has maintained a mutually beneficial relationship with the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) for the past four years participating in their Social Work Field Placement Program, which enables student interns to receive educational experience while performing specified job duties as assigned and supervised by DHS staff.  These internships are considered voluntary learning opportunities in partial preparation for a degree in Social Services from CSUS.  Field Placement Agreement #219-O0910 delineates responsibilities of each party relative to the participation of student interns participating in the CSUS Social Work Field Placement Program during the term of July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2013.

Field Placement Agreement #219-O0910 is being submitted for retroactive execution due to the implementation of revisions to CSUS's insurance language as required by County Counsel and Risk Management.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1.  Chairman to sign three (3) original Agreements.
2.  Board Clerk to return two (2) original Agreements to Department.
3.  Department to distribute as appropriate.
