Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. This Agreement reimburses the County for data entry into the California Electronic Death Registration System.

Background: State of California Department of Public Health, Center for Health Statistics contracts with counties to enter death certificate data into the California Electronic Death Registration System (CA-EDRS) and reimburses $1.00 per death certificate for this activity.

Reason for Recommendation: This Agreement will reimburse the County for data entry of death certificates issued in El Dorado County. The term of this Agreement is July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 and is retroactive due to late receipt of the Agreement from the State and time needed to process the Agreement within the County. The Department did not receive the FY 08-09 Agreement until November 2008; changes in Departmental staffing contributed to some delay in submittal of the Agreement to County Counsel.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Board Chairman to sign four (4) Agreements #819-PHD0209.
2. Board Clerk's Office to return four (4) signed agreements to Department.
3. Department to return signed Agreements to State for final signature.
