Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  No change to net county cost.  Cost for period from October 10, 2009 thru June 30, 2010 has been included in the Sheriff's FY2009-10 budget.  Future costs will be included in future year budgets.

 

Reason for Recommendation:  This agreement will provide Domestic Violence / Anger Management classes to inmates in the El Dorado County Jail.  The Sheriff's Department is continueing to use Progress House in order to maintain continuity of services for inmates who are already enrolled in the Anger Management Program,  to maintain continuity once the inmates are released and have to continue their classes as part of their court order.  Progress House counselors are  trained and experienced to provide these services.  The program includes counseling for defendants who are mandated by the criminal justice system to receive counseling for Domestic Violence / Anger Management while incarcerated.

 

The term of the agreement is October 10, 2009 thru October 9, 2012. 

 

Action to be taken following Board approval: 

1)  Chairman will sign two  original copies of the agreement and foward to the Sheriff for completion. 

2)  Sheriff's staff will submit contract encumbrance to Purchasing and request blanket purchase order.

3)  Sheriff's staff will forward one fully executed original to Progress House with Notice to Proceed Letter.
