Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement. All funding is received from Sacramento County acting as fiscal agent for the Federal Ryan White CARE Act.

Background: The Ryan White CARE Act provides funding for various medical services and specific limited emergency funds for people living with HIV and/or AIDS. Services include, but are not limited to, information, referrals and/or arrangements for outpatient medical care, skilled nursing, medication management, diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions, and support for addressing nutrition issues to include direct food purchases. Services for client medical emergencies are available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

The Health Services Department receives funding to provide Ryan White CARE Act services through an agreement with the County of Sacramento who serves as fiscal agent. The Department then contracts with Sierra Foothills AIDS Foundation to provide these critical services to County residents as needed.

Compensation for Services: Monthly itemized invoices submitted for allowable expenses are paid within forty-five (45) days of receipt and approval.
