Clerk of the Board recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 124-2016 to:
1) Cancel the regular meetings of the Board of Supervisors for November 8, 2016 and November 29, 2016; and
2) Schedule regular meetings for November 1, 2016 and November 15, 2016 to minimize the impact to public accessibility of the Elections Department in Building C of the Government Center on November 8, 2016 for the Presidential Election and providing an opportunity for Board members to attend the California State Association of Counties Annual Conference beginning November 29 through December 1, 2016.

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Department recommends approval of this Resolution to affect the modifications to the Board's regular meeting calendar as described herein.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Board of Supervisors (Board) adopts its regular meeting calendar on an annual basis pursuant to county ordinance code Title 2, Chapter 2.03, Section 2.03.020 and adopted their regular meeting calendar for 2016 on December 15, 2015. The adopted meeting calendar included the Board meeting dates of November 8, 2016 and November 29, 2016 as regular meetings. Due to the renovation to portions of Building A of the main Government Center commencing in August 2016 through the beginning of 2017, the Board will hold their regular meetings in the Planning Commission Hearing Room in Building C.
As a result, the department recommends cancelling the meeting of November 8, 2016 to minimize the impact to the public who access Building C to vote in the Presidential Primary at the Elections Department. It is futher recommended the Board cancels its meeting of November 29, 2016 to provide an opportunity for its members to attend the annual California State Association of Counties in Palm Springs, California November 29 through December 1, 2016.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board can choose not to adopt the Resolution to amend their regular meeting calendar and may provide direction to staff to take other action or no action.
