DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Surveyor's Office recommending the Board adopt a Resolution of Vacation for Abandonment of Easement 16-008 to abandon a public utility easement on Lot 40 of "Emerald Meadows", recorded at Book H of Subdivisions at Page 69, identified as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 102-501-20, requested by the owners, Brian D. Sherman and Shannon A. Sherman.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
A request has been submitted by Brian D. Sherman and Shannon A. Sherman, owner of APN 102-501-20, requesting that the County of El Dorado, Board of Supervisors, vacate a public utility easement located on the subject property. Said easement is more particularly described in Exhibit A, and depicted on Exhibit B of the attached Resolution.

The public utility easement, as shown on Lot 40 of "Emerald Meadows", recorded at Book H of Subdivisions at Page 69 was offered to the County of El Dorado by, Lewis Homes Of California, A California General Partnership, on August 31, 1992. The easement was acknowledged and accepted by the County of El Dorado on November 24, 1992 and the Subdivision Map recorded on December 2, 1992.

ALTERNATIVES
An alternative would be to not adopt a Resolution of Vacation for Abandonment of Easement 16-008. By utilizing this alternative, the owner of Assessor's Parcel 120-233-07, would be unable to acquire the necessary permit to build their pool.

OTHER DEPARTMENT / AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
