Community Development Agency, Transportation Division (Transportation), recommending the Board receive and file a presentation on Assembly Bill 52 (AB 52).
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Per the request of the Board, Transportation staff will provide a brief presentation on AB 52: A CEQA Guidelines Update for Tribal Cultural Resources.
Effective July 1, 2015, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) was amended mandating early tribal consultation prior to and during CEQA review, for tribes who request it. Staff will provide an overview of how AB 52 is impacting Transportation projects and what is being done to ensure compliance with the law.
