DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution xxx-2016 to delete five (5) Deputy Sheriff I/II positions from the Personnel Allocation.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On August 16, 2016, the Board adopted Resolution 137-2016, adding five (5) Deputy Sheriff I/II positions to the Personnel Allocation in order to comply with the decision of the Court of Appeal and the subsequent order from the El Dorado County Superior Court, in the case of El Dorado County Deputy Sheriff's Association v. County of El Dorado, Superior Court Case No. PC20120637, Third Appellate District Case No C075615.
As a result, Human Resources has provided notice to and consulted with the Deputy Sheriffs' Association (DSA) regarding its intent to recommend deletion of the positions to the Board of Supervisors due to existing unfilled vacancies in the Deputy Sheriff I/II classification and budget constraints.
