DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Community Development Agency, Environmental Management Division, recommending the Board receive a presentation, an Annual Performance Review for 2016, from Waste Connections of California, Inc., dba El Dorado Disposal Service (EDDS), summarizing program implementation, performance, and future programs.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On October 21, 2014 (Item 32), the Board adopted Resolution 187-2014 authorizing a new Solid Waste Services Agreement (Agreement) with EDDS. The new Agreement included significant changes compared to the prior Agreement, including the roll-out of contractor provided carts for all residential collection services and the implementation of multiple strategies cited in the County’s Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP), including the implementation of State mandated programs.
EDDS would like to provide an update to the Board on collection service programs, customer service performance, and future programs proposed to achieve goals specified in the Agreement and the County’s SWMP.
