The Sheriff’s Office and Probation Department recommend signing the Agreement in order to receive background investigation services.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Sheriff’s Office and the Probation Department have had an agreement with Madeira Group International for several years to provide “as-needed” background investigative services for new hires. This agreement is to continue receiving these services for a new three-year contract term. The agreement is retroactive to August 4, 2017, in order to avoid an interruption in services following the expiration of the last agreement.

Failure to approve this contract would result in the inability of the Sheriff’s Office and Probation Department to utilize these essential services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
No change to Net County Cost. Funding for these services is budgeted in the Sheriff's and Probation’s operating budget each year and will continue to be budgeted in future years.
