Air Quality Management District recommending:
1) The Board acting as the Air District Board of Directors, authorize the use of $73,657 in Air Quality Management funding to lease temporary office space for the Air Quality Management District (AQMD) and;
2) The Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign Amendment I to Agreement 271-O1611 with Modular Space Corporation, Inc., increasing the compensation by $73,657 for a new total of $438,470 and extending the month-to-month option an additional twelve months as related to the Air Quality Management District’s new facility project.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On January 26th, 2016, the Board authorized Agreement No. 271-O1611 with Modular Space Corporation, Inc., in an amount not-to-exceed $364,813 and a term of two years with the option to extend on a month-to-month basis an additional twelve months (Legistar File ID No. 14-1467).
This agreement was awarded pursuant to a Request for Proposal (RFP) that was issued on August 13th, 2015. Responses were reviewed and ranked and the Modular Space Corporation, Inc. was chosen as the best fit and value for this project.
This First Amendment increases compensation by $73,657 and extends the month-to-month option an additional twelve months for an amended not-to-exceed of $438,470 and an amended optional term of twenty-four months.
The Amendment is necessary to extend the rental of the temporary office spaces as a location is researched for a new office location for the Air Quality Management District (AQMD). Currently, AQMD does not have permanent office space. AQMD will be returning to their Board in the near future to seek further direction and approval regarding their relocation project.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could decline the Amendment and a different solution for temporary office space will have to be identified.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will result in an additional $73,657 cost to the District's budget. AQMD has budgeted for this expense in their Fiscal Year 17-18 budget and there is no change in Net County Cost.
