Health Services Department, Mental Health Division, recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Amendment I to Agreement 657-S0711 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. for the term July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009 to revise the payment rates (set by the State) effective upon execution of said Amendment, with no change to the total contract amount of $1,400,000, noting this contract provides a long term 24 hour Special Treatment Program for mentally ill adults on an “as requested” basis for said Department.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

Fiscal Impact: Funding for this contract is included in the Department’s FY 2008-09 budget. There is no Change to Net County Cost.
Reason for Recommendation: Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. has been providing long term 24 hour care and treatment to mentally ill County adults for over six years. These services are delivered at Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Special Treatment Programs (STP), Institutes for Mental Disorders (IMD), and Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers (MHRC). Crestwood has a number of locations throughout northern California.
This amendment will allow the vendor to charge at the new rates which are set by the State and will be effective upon execution of the Amendment.
The Purchasing Agent has reviewed the Department’s request to amend the contract with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. and has determined that it is more appropriate to do an amendment versus a new contract. The Purchasing Agent has coordinated outside review of the Contractor's qualifications and the outside reviewer concurs that the Contractor is qualified and able to perform the needed services.
