DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Agreement for Services #593 (312-S1811) with California Psychiatric Transitions, Inc. (CPT) for the provision of long-term residential treatment for mentally ill adults as HHSA needs to provide and maintain capacity for residential treatment services at the higher level of acuity available through CPT.

Additionally, HHSA has determined that services provided pursuant to this Agreement #593 (312-S1811) satisfy the criteria defined in Chapter 3.13, Section 3.13.030 of the County Ordinance in that the work performed under this Agreement is on an “as requested” basis; therefore, it is more economical and feasible to engage an independent contractor for long-term residential treatment for mentally ill adults. Furthermore, the County does not possess the facilities.

CPT is a 24/7 Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC), licensed by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), located in Merced County, that has been providing long-term residential psychiatric treatment for County adults since March 7, 2008.
