Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change. The Agreement is funded by Federal and State dollars with required County match met primarily with non-General Fund resources. Funds are budgeted for FY 2008-09 and will be budgeted for FY 2009-10, and FY 2010-11.
Reason for Recommendation: Bus transportation services on an “as-requested” basis enable Department of Human Services (DHS) clients in the South Lake Tahoe area to access necessary services. On April 29, 2008, the Board executed Agreement #651-S0811 with Area Transit Management for the provision of bus transportation services in the South Lake Tahoe area for the term of January 3, 2008 through January 2, 2011. South Tahoe Area Transit Authority took over responsibility for coordinated bus services in the South Lake Tahoe area from Area Transit Management effective November 1, 2008. The Agreement with South Tahoe Area Transit Authority replaces the Agreement with Area Transit Management.
