Background: The Health Services Department - Public Health Division ("PHD"), in collaboration with El Dorado County Superior Court, oversees the Collaborative Justice Juvenile Drug Court Program which provides alcohol and drug treatment services for El Dorado County youth who are court-ordered to treatment. Funding for this program is provided by the Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts, with El Dorado County Superior Court serving as the Fiscal Agent. Superior Court contracts with PHD, which in turn contracts with local non-profit treatment providers.

Reason for Recommendation: Superior Court has received funding for FY 2008-09 for the Collaborative Justive Juvenile Drug Court Program. The MOU #818-PHD0109 provides funding for these services. The MOU is retroactive due to the late receipt of initial documents from the Court and the processing time required by the County.

Funding of $20,000 is included in PHD's FY 2008-09 budget.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Chairman to sign three (3) MOUs #818-PHD0109.
2. Board Clerk's Office to return two (2) fully executed MOUs to Department.
3. Department to mail one (1) original fully executed MOU to the Superior Court.
