The 23rd annual California On Location Award ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, in December 2017. At this ceremony the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office's Lieutenant James Byers was awarded the 2017 County Public Employee of the Year, for his support of the El Dorado County Film Commission.
