Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no change in NCC for the Sheriff's budget. This is an ongoing expense that is included in the Sheriff's budget.

Background: The Sheriff's staff has been working with County Counsel and Procurements and Contracts for almost one year to secure contracts with Comcast Cable for internet services. The service for the Office of Emergency Services was previously processed on a blanket purchase order, but when that document expired, Procurements and Contracts needed to process the item as a contract due to changes in the Purchasing Ordinance. Reason for Recommendation: Both of these agreements reference a 24-month term of 6-10-2008 thru 6-09-2010, but they shall automatically renew for successive periods of one (1) year unless prior notice of non-renewal is delivered by either Party to the other at least thirty (30) days before the expiration of the Service Term or the then current Renewal Term. Per BOS Policy C-17, the CAO requested that the Board sign the agreements since they are considered to be perpetual.

Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chairman will sign the agreements; Procurements and Contracts shall issue blanket purchase orders for the 24-month terms...
