Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Amended MSA-1 has no additional fiscal impact.

Background:
The County engaged in a cooperative State Agreement with AT&T (SBC Pac Bell) for the specified and discounted purchase of telecommunications services and products in 1999 (CALNET I). The CALNET I agreement expired in December, 2008. The County signed into a new cooperative State agreement with AT&T (CALNET II) on 10/28/2008 as approved by the Board. (see item 26, 10/28/09)

Reason for Recommendation:
Information Technologies intended to upgrade the County's internet services in FY 09-10 as part of our Strategic Plan to improve efficiencies throughout the County's infrastructure. However, due to the possibility of a pandemic flu outbreak, IT feels it is in the best interest of the County to advance this ugrade now to accomodate the likelihood of increased internet traffic caused by a crisis or disaster condition.

The current CALNET II, MSA-1 Attachment marked Exhibit A-2 details a list of services the County is authorized to order through AT&T. At the time the Agreement was generated, Internet Service was omitted from this list in error.
