Transportation Department recommending adoption of Resolution sanctioning the closure of Merrychase Drive from Country Club Drive to the south entrance of Blue Oak Elementary School from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 for the Blue Oak Elementary PTA "Bulldog Biathlon", subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure."

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact or net county cost.
Background: The Bulldog Biathlon is a running and cycling event for children in the Kindergarten through Fifth grades sponsored by the Blue Oak Elementary PTA. There will be approximately 200 children participating. The requested road closure is for the safety of the participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The road listed in the Resolution will be closed from 7:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday, June 6, 2009 for the Blue Oak Elementary PTA "Bulldog Biathlon." Please provide this department with a signed copy of the Resolution for this road closure.
