Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact for this amendment. Term extension and scope of work clarification only.

Background: In 2005, the California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC) contracted with El Dorado County to provide animal control services to specific areas within the California Tahoe Conservancy boundaries. The original agreement has been amended two prior times to modify the scope of work, termination date, and maximum payment amount.

Reason for Recommendation: Animal Services receives payment for animal control services provided on behalf of California Tahoe Conservancy. Amendment 3 extends the term of the contract from June 30, 2008 through June 30, 2009, updates the named project coordinator, and and modifies the compensation rates from monthly to hourly. There is approximately $8,000 in remaining funds that can be paid by the CTC to Animal Services this Fiscal Year 2008-2009.

Amendment 3 is retroactive to July 1, 2008 due to late receipt of documents from California Tahoe Conservancy and additional time required to incorporate recommended revisions to Amendment 3 from County Counsel. Department staff processed documents as quickly as possible under the circumstances and prepared approved documents for the next available Board meeting.
