Title: Probation Department recommending the Board: 1) Adopt and authorize the Chair to sign a Memorandum of Understanding 3571 between the El Dorado County Probation Department and Superior Court of California regarding Collaborative Justice Courts Substance Abuse Focus Grant Program award in the amount of $14,000.00 for Probation to provide services of alcohol monitoring, urine testing, saliva testing and other technologies to monitor offenders compliance in collaboration with Superior Court of California for Fiscal Year 2018/19 aligning the term to match the retroactive grant award of July 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019; and 2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute further documents relating to Memorandum of Understanding 3571, including amendments which do not increase the maximum dollar amount or term of the Agreement, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management. DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Superior Court of California, County of El Dorado, first applied for the California Collaborative Justice Courts Substance Abuse Focus Grant Program (SAFG) in August of 2014. The grant is funded through the Judicial Council of California. The Court received notification of the grant award in late 2014 under the terms and conditions of Contract No. 1029398. A second year application (FY 2015-2016) was submitted and awarded in August 2015 under the terms and conditions of Contract No. 1031075. A third year application (FY 2016-2017) was submitted and awarded in August 2016 under the terms and conditions of Contract No. 1032705. A fourth year application (FY 2017-2018) was submitted and awarded in October 2017 under the terms and conditions of Contract No. 1035004. A fifth year application (FY 2018-2019) was submitted and awarded in October 2018 in the amount of $14,000.00.
